In 2011, Luiss launched its first week-long Summer Schools for students ages 14 to 19. The courses were designed to help high schoolers learn more about university degree programs while developing new skills in areas linked to the job market.
Summer School courses are held throughout the summer. Participants may live in Luiss housing or may find their own accommodations. Some courses are held exclusively at Luiss in Rome while others are also held at the Milano Luiss Hub.
Students entering their final year of high school that are interested in discovering what degree program is most in line with their skills and interests, or who want to take the Luiss admission test early, can participate in the Orientation Summer School, available in both Italian and English.
Students in their third-to-last or penultimate year of high school may participate in any of the following programs: the Cyber Summer School, the Data Science Summer School, the Legal Summer School, the Political Science Summer School and the Marketing Summer School. All of the programs are held exclusively in Italian, with the exception of the Marketing Summer School which is also held in English. All of the Summer Schools give students in their third-to-last year of high school to participate in the Two-Year Course for Talented Young People, an initiative that allows promising students direct admission to Luiss through a program designed exclusively for them.
Younger students interested in topics outside of Luiss degree programs can still get to know the university during their first and second years of high school through the following programs: the Writing Summer School, the Comics Summer School and the NeWorld Summer School.
Students who have a good command of the English language who can dedicate two weeks may participate in the International Summer School that combines one week of the Marketing Summer School and one week of the Orientation Summer School in an international context.
All of the programs listed above are held on the Luiss campus on Viale Romania in the Parioli neighborhood. The Legal Summer School, the Political Science Summer School and the Comics Summer School are also held in Milan at the Milano Luiss Hub in the Corso Como district.
The courses are priced between €900 and €1500, depending on the program selected and if housing is provided. Tuition may be paid by credit card, bank transfer or through Jointly, Easy Welfare or Edenred.
Discounts apply for students who have previously participated in a Summer School, have siblings that have participated in a Summer School or have siblings currently enrolled in a Luiss degree program.
Summer 2019 registration opens in January 2019.
