Fondazione Protettorato San Giuseppe was founded over 100 years ago to house the poor, today it is one of Rome’s oldest non-profit associations working with children and adolescents. Since 2003 the foundation has focused its efforts on on researching and testing innovative programs to assist children and families.
The foundation currently runs four homes welcoming children aged 3-18 and mothers with small children as well as a small nursery in collaboration with the Rome’s town hall, open to the city’s families. The association also manages experimental and research projects to develop training initiatives.
Students volunteers will assist foreign youth to learn Italian, provide support to educators during recreational periods for the homes’ youngest residents, plan cultural and athletic events and provide research support.
