Economics and Finance

The Department's research activity is based on the rigorous study of individual and aggregate decisions, as well as relevant issues in monetary and fiscal policy, and financial, industrial and labor regulations.

Using the most advanced theoretical models, empirical investigations based on macroeconomic, microeconomic and sector-based data, along with experimental research in the laboratory, the Department confronts fundamental topics for the global, European and Italian economy with regard to consumption, savings, growth, work, productivity, stability and market efficiency.


Business and Management

The professors and research centers affiliated with the Department carry out research activities in conjunction with important international institutions, organizing workshops and recurring seminars, encouraging collaboration with researchers, entrepreneurs and directors of national and international companies.

This continuous collaboration with the entrepreneurial system reinforces the vitality and interdisciplinarity of the Department's research and academic programs, creating an educational curriculum that meets the real needs of the business world.



The Department of Law promotes and coordinates scientific research, develops PhD programs and writes research grants in the legal field.

The Department is made up of tenured professors and adjunct researchers.


Political Science

The Department of Political Science covers studies and research in the fields of sociology, methodology, politics, communication and political philosophy.

The Department's research centers (the Social Sciences Methodology Centre, the Centre for the Study of Human Rights, the Political Analysis Workshop, the International Centre for Transition Studies, and the Communication Research Section) promote seminars and conferences with the participation of academics from leading universities in Italy and abroad.
