Villa Blanc's public park dedicated to Maria Pilar Buzzetti and Virginia Chimenti

The two women lost their lives in the Ethiopian Airlines crash

On Wednesday, October 2, the public park at Villa Blanc, headquarters of the Luiss Business School, was dedicated to Maria Pilar Buzzetti and Virginia Chimenti, young professionals with the World Food Program who were victims of the Ethiopian Airlines crash on March 10, 2019.

The University wishes to commemorate the two women’ dedication to international solidariety work. Maria, a Luiss alumna with a degree in International Relations, Political Science and Government, authored numerous publications and was a consultant for study, research and internationalization associations in Eurasia and Africa. Virginia, after completing her degree in Milan and a master’s program in African and Oriental Studies in London, began a career with the United Nations, working first in Myanmar with the UN Capital Development Fund and then in Rome with the International Fund for Agricultural Development and the World Food Programme.

Participating in the ceremony, alongside the young women’s friends and family, were Luiss President Vincenzo Boccia, Vice President Paola Severino, General Manager Giovanni Lo Storto, Rector Andrea Prencipe and President of the Luiss Business School, Luigi Abete

Representing Rome’s II Municipal were President Francesca Del Bello, and Head of Innovation and Equal Opportunity Lucrezia Colmayer.
