Expression of Interest for the Position of Associate/Full Professor of Criminal Law Procedure

The Department of Law of Luiss University invites outstanding scholars to express their interest for one full-time tenured professorship (Associate or Full Professor) of Criminal Law Procedure. We see this as an opportunity to further strengthen Luiss University’s ambition to become one of the leading research and teaching centres in Europe.


We seek academics of the highest profile with a strong commitment to research and teaching and the aspiration to contribute to Luiss University’s international expansion and visibility.

Candidates must hold a PhD from a leading university, have established teaching experience and a relevant record of publications in international journals. Candidates must also have either a tenured position status at a university or have recently obtained the appropriate national qualification (ASN) from the Italian University system.

Ideal candidates are leading scholars in the field of Criminal Law Procedure and show a passionate drive to develop advanced research projects and engage in Luiss University’s dynamic and stimulating academic environment, contributing to its further development.

They will be able to teach and publish in English.

Role and Responsibilities

The Associate/Full Professor of Criminal Law Procedure is expected to undertake rigorous and innovative research in their field of interest, publish in high quality international outlets, and provide academic leadership in research activities. They are also expected to contribute to the collegial and intellectual life of the University and of the Luiss community at large.

The position offers the opportunity to launch new research streams while teaching on preferred subjects. Teaching load is two courses per year either in an undergraduate or post-graduate program. Teaching can be either in English, Italian or both. The position holder will also supervise master’s dissertations and bachelor’s papers in their field. Teaching assistantships are available. Appointments are full time and the salary is competitive.

About the Department of Law

The Department of Law is charged with the task of organizing the degree program for the single-cycle, five-year degree course in Law. It also promotes and coordinates scientific research and offers PhD programs in the legal field. Its primary areas of research are law and new technologies, law and innovation, Europe law, justice and market.
