Students resident/living and studying abroad exempted from sitting the university admission test
The exemption from sitting the admissiontest applies solely to the bachelor's degree course in Economics and Business taught in English and is limited tothe following categories of students:
- 10 places for EU students (citizens of Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Switzerland and the Republic of San Marino are included for such purposes) resident/living abroad and enrolled at secondary schools located abroad where they will obtain their final qualification;
- 5 places for non-EU students resident abroad (foreign contingent) enrolled at secondary schools located abroad where they will obtain their final qualification.
Procedure and Selection Criteria
Studentsexempted from sitting the admission test who wish to do the bachelor's degreecourse in Economics and Business must fill out the relevant application form between 11January and 9 March 2010 and atthe same time send the following documentation to the Student Office(Segreteria Studenti, Luiss Guido Carli, Viale Romania 32, 00197 Rome, Italy):
- a certificate showing the SAT Reasoning Test (Scholastic Assessment Test) scores in each of the prescribed three sections:
- Critical Reading
- Mathematics
- Writing
- a certificate showing the studies undertaken (penultimate year of secondary school) and the relevant grade point average. It should be borne in mind that pursuant to Ministry of Education, Universities and Research (MIUR) regulations, qualifications awarded abroad grant access to an Italian university only if they:
- have been awarded by schools officially recognised by the foreign country's education system;
- entitle the student to enrol in universities of the country that awarded them;
- have been awarded on completion of a minimum of 12 years of overall schooling (primary and secondary education).
- have successfully completed two years of college/university education (and be admitted to the third year);
- have successfully completed one year of college education (and be admitted to the second year) and have earned at least 4 Advanced Placements (APs);
- have been awarded the Italian school leaving qualification;
- have been granted equivalence in Italy.
For further information regarding qualifications, it is advisable to contact the local Italian diplomatic authorities of the country where the qualification has been awarded.

Solely applications accompanied bythe above documentation that arrive by 9 March 2010 will be considered.
A special exam commission willassess the documentation sent by every single candidate and will rank thembased on SAT scores, school record and age. Candidates will be admitted on aprovisional basis, which will become final once the candidate has obtained therelevant qualification and the originals of the documentation reach the StudentOffice together with a statement of equivalent value.
Inparticular, in case of admission non-EU students must visit the local Italian diplomatic authoritiesin their countries by the prescribed deadline (generally between May and June)to submit a pre-enrolment application for Italian universities. For this category ofstudent the local Italian diplomatic authorities well send Luiss Guido Carli the duly translated andlegalised school leaving qualification bydiplomatic courier together with the statement of equivalent value of the qualification in question and certification ofthe student's personal identity (authenticated photo).
Students who are declared admitted will be soinformed by e-mail and sent the forms required to complete enrolment by and nolater than 15 July 2010.
