The Executive Committee of LUISS Guido Carli has named Riccardo Zacconi Alumnus of the year 2018.
The CEO of King, one of the most important international gaming company – well-known for selling the famous mobile game, Candy Crush Saga (over one billion downloads), in 2015 for more than €5 billion, has been selected by LUISS President, Emma Marcegaglia, Executive Vice President Luigi Serra, Rector Paola Severino, General Manager Giovanni Lo Storto and Deputy Rector Andrea Prencipe, from a group of candidates chosen from the LUISS Alumni Association (ALL).
Born in Rome in May 1967, Zacconi graduated with a degree in Economics and Management at LUISS University in 1991, with a thesis on Deutsche Civil Financial Budgeting, with Professor Giovanni Fiori, getting the maximum score. After his first professional experiences, working between England and Germany, in 2003 Zacconi founded King.com in London, a company specialized in mobile video games, which became famous with the extraordinary famous, Candy Crush Saga.
“Riccardo Zacconi is the fourth nominee to be awarded LUISS Alumnus of the year, the prestigious prize the University gives to prominent professionals who reached extraordinary performances, in and outside Italy,” said Daniele Pelli, President of LUISS Alumni Association who underlined that “people as Riccardo are a proud example of graduates, not only for personal success but for the sense of giving back to the community of his alma mater, expressed with a generous carefulness.”
To celebrate Zacconi, Emma Marcegaglia and Daniele Pelli will award to the top manager the Alumnus Award on September 28 during a special event, organized in Rome, which will be open to all the University alumni community. Moreover, from September 28 through September 30, the LUISS Alumni Association will launch the annual reunion entitled Crafting a Shared Future, a three-day event where all the participants will discuss and reflect on three fundamental drivers for the future: Europe, entrepreneurship and open society.
