On Monday, July 10 at 4:00 p.m., LUISS presents a new project in collaboration with FederCanotaggio to promote dual careers. The event is held in the Villa Blanc ballroom.
“To instill in you people an awareness of the importance of sporting culture and practice to live a healthy lifestyle in respect of values.” This is the opening line of the memorandum of understanding between LUISS and the Italian Rowing Federation, signed on February 2, 2016.
LUISS Sport President Luigi Abete declares: “The agreement with the Italian Rowing Federation is more than a goal that we have reached, but a new starting point for a winning duo that once again shows us the right path to pursue to grow our Dual Career project.”
“I am proud to see that the collaboration between Italian rowing and LUISS is coming into effect,” affirms President of the Italian Rowing Federation Giuseppe Abbagnale. The president continues: “I believe that this is a first step in consolidating the presence of athletics in the best Italian universities just as in Anglo-Saxon countries. I am convinced that Italy will be able to catch up to the times thanks to prestigious universities like LUISS.”
The ambitious project aimed at top athletes in various disciplines gives Ludovica Serafini and Giorga Pelacchi, who finished fourth in Coxless Pair in the European Finals 2017, the opportunity to study at LUISS while preparing themselves to represent Italy on the international level.
Participating in the event are Luigi Abete, President of LUISS Sport, Emmanuele Francesco Maria Emanuele, President of Fondazione Terzo Pilastro, Roberto Pessi, LUISS Vice Rector of Teaching, Giuseppe Abbagnale, President of the Italian Rowing Federation and Francesco Cattaneo, Technical Director of the Italian Rowing Federation. Special guests are CONI President Giovanni Malagò and CIP President Luca Pancalli.
