Chiara Mormile Italian women's fencing champion in Gorizia 2017

The LUISS student takes first in women's fencing during the Italian national championship

On Wednesday, June 7, 2017, LUISS student Chiara Mormile won the women’s fencing tournament during the Italian national championships held in Gorizia.

During the first day of competition, the Political Science student defeated Caterina Navarria in the final round with a score of 15-7, earning the title of Italian Champion 2017.

A point of pride from the LUISS Sport Academy scholarship program for student-athletes, Chiara Mormile took home the gold medal during the Under 23 European Championships in Plovdiv, Bulgaria and won the silver medal in women's team fencing during the VI edition of the Military World Games in Mungyeong, South Korea in October 2015.
