On May 11, 2016 with 372 votes in favor, 51 against and 99 abstentions, one of the most debated and awaited laws in recent years was passed, granting civil unions to people of the same sex in Italy. The book goes behind the scenes to explore the legislative process, conservative opposition and the Italian media's coverage of the act.
