Luiss Lap
LAP is a centre for the analysis and the empirical research on contemporary politics. Its aim is to provide the area of politological studies with the proper theoretical, methodological and operative anchorages in order to support applied research dealing with the political reality and the corresponding social, economic and cultural variables.
Its programme intends to support the teaching courses, which identify the studying subjects, and to promote specific projects of exploration and empirical learning on such subjects. It is open to the contributions of both internal and external scholars but also to the contributions of those students willing to cope with such training. The LAP activities include both "ecological" research, that is on aggregate data, and surveys through questionnaires. It also includes the editing of periodic reports on the activities carried out, even as essays and scientific papers.
The areas of research are three: the civic culture (attitudes and values of civicness), the political participation (in particular dealing with electoral behaviours, political opinions, the feeling of membership and identity), the governmental culture (attitudes and performances of the ruling class and political elites).
