Master in Human Rights and Democracy
Please note: Not activated this year
The exponential growth of contacts among cultures across the globe, the potentiality of conflicts implicit in such contacts, and the process of globalization render the study of international relations of the utmost importance. The new challenges of global politics are commonly addressed using the language of Human Rights, Democracy and the Rule of Law. A multilevel competence on these issues, combined with the classical education of IR scholars is required to interact efficiently on the global scene. The program aims to create a new professional profile of an internationalist who will be able to compete for positions offered by International Organizations (UN, High Commissioner for Human Rights, Council of Europe) and major NGOs. Through its highly qualified faculty and its strong international vocation, the program is intended to train not only theoreticians but also professionals capable of dealing with concrete critical cases of HR defense, peace keeping, nation building, international police, terrorism, the right to intervention and so on. The courses offered are mainly in International Law, Economics, Ethics of International Relations, History, Political Science, Anthropology, and Area Studies. The official language of the program is English.
Entrance Requirements A BA degree in Philosophy, Law or Social Sciences, but suitably qualified applicants from other disciplines may also be eligible
