CFP: The 1st CEGP Political Theory Graduate Conference at
LUISS ‘Guido Carli’, Rome

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS: Will Kymlicka and Ian Carter
The PhD students at the Centre for Ethics and Global Politics at LUISS University are delighted to launch the Centre’s first Political Theory Graduate Conference. The focus of the conference will be on political theory broadly construed. Papers fall within the disciplines of political theory, political philosophy and social philosophy.
Keynote lectures will be delivered by Prof. Will Kymlicka (Queen’s University, Kingston, Canada) and Prof. Ian Carter (University of Pavia, Italy).
Submission deadline
A detailed abstract between 500-1000 words should be sent by March 7th, 2010. Those accepted will be notified by the middle of March. Proposals should be sent in word or rtf format, and they will be blindly reviewed by current graduate students and faculty in the Department of Political and Social Studies at LUISS. Details of participants should be sent on a separate sheet.
Participants should prepare a presentation suitable for approximately 30 minutes. Each presentation will be followed by a discussion period. The language of the conference is English.
Speakers planning to use slides or hand-outs, are kindly requested to contact the organizers before the beginning of the conference.
Guidelines
Papers can discuss any topic in political theory, both from analytic and continental perspectives. Selection will be based on clarity, argumentation and originality.
