Summer School in Canada (deadline expired)
Do you want to breathe the fresh air of the Pacific Ocean? Fly to Vancouver. Following the recently signed agreement between Luiss and the University of British Columbia in Vancouver (ranked 36th among the 500 best universities in the world according to the University of Shanghai and 50th in the Times ranking, both in 2007), the first cycle of student exchanges between the two institutions has commenced.
The Institute for European Studies (IES) of the University of British Columbia (UBC),Vancouver, Canada, is organising an Interdisciplinary Summer School in 2008 and Luiss is offering two of its master of science students financial support of 1,200 euros each to attend this interesting event.
The Intensive Course is entitled "Contested Europe" and will take place from 27 April to 9 May 2008.
The Summer School will be an opportunity to:
- deepen your knowledge of the process and direction of European integration;
- compare your abilities in a university that is among the best in the world and that has an educational system different from the Italian one in that it is less focused on classical lessons and more directed towards interaction and participation;
- observe Europe "from the outside", from the perspective of a North American country facing the Pacific Ocean and therefore attentive to the appeal of theFar East.
The total costs for the two weeks amounts to CAD 1,500 (approximately 1,000 euros at current exchange rate) and includes accommodation, meals and course materials.
