El Banco Central Alemán (Bundesbank) pedirá la destitución de su directivo Thilo Sarrazin tras el escándalo causado por una serie de declaraciones racistas. Durante una reunión celebrada ayer en su ausencia, el Consejo de Administración del antiguo banco emisor alemán acordó por unanimidad solicitar al presidente federal, Christian Wulff, que rescinda el mandato de Sarrazin. Es la primera vez desde su fundación, en 1957, que el Bundesbank toma una medida semejante contra uno de sus directivos.
