ITP LUISS/TERNA Program

LUISS Guido Carli opens a call for applications for the admission of two students to the ITP International Training Program, an excellence academic program jointly managed and financed by LUISS and Terna S.p.A. that integrates academic training and business experience in the context of the master's degree program in Management, held entirely in English.

This call is open to particularly brilliant students that attained or will obtain a bachelor's degree before July 2018, in a foreign institution and come from Brazil, Chile, Uruguay or Peru.

The program offers to each admitted student a scholarship to cover tuition, with only the exception of the regional tax as prescribed by the law, and the cover of the costs of accommodation and food for the whole normal duration of the study program (2 academic years).

During the program, the students will have the opportunity to perform internships at Terna offices in the countries involved and at the end of studies Terna will be entitled to offer a job opportunity to the students admitted to the program.

2. Application procedure

The selection process will be held in a rolling base according to the following rounds:

To participate in the selection process it is necessary to fill out a specific application form by the relevant deadline indicated in column 1 – Deadline for Submission of Application. After having filled out the form the student must send it by e-mail to ammissione@luiss.it with the required documents.

It will be necessary to send:

  • a certificate showing registration at a university and listing the exams taken, solely in the case of admission to be translated into Italian and legalized by the local Italian consulate or embassy in the country concerned
  • a school leaving qualification, which if awarded abroad must solely in the case of admission be translated and legalized and accompanied by a statement of equivalent value issued by the local Italian consulate or embassy in the country concerned
  • a certificate evidencing passing of an academic suitability test, if such is required for access to local universities in the country concerned,
  • a curriculum vitae (in English)
  • a cover letter (in English)
  • a letter of reference from a lecturer (written in English)
  • optional but strongly recommended a certificate showing the results obtained in the GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) or GRE (Graduate Record Examinations) in each of the three sections. For more information on the tests, it is advisable to visit the GMAC and ETS web sites.

Only applications accompanied by all of the required documentation received by the deadline for the round – column 1 - in question will be considered.

The Student Office will screen the applications received, informing each student whether their own candidacy is in order as regards the required documentation by the relevant deadline indicated in column 2 – Assessment of Admissibility of Candidacy.

LUISS Guido Carli declines any responsibility for application not received for technical reasons or responsibility of third parties.

3. Scholarship assignment

The Student Office will screen the applications received, informing each student whether their own candidacy is in order as regards the required documentation by the relevant deadline indicated in column 2 – Assessment of Admissibility of Candidacy.

Subsequently, the candidacies that pass the initial screening as to their admissibility will be examined by a special admission Commission formed by two LUISS representatives and two representatives of Terna S.p.A. that, on its sole discretion, will evaluate the documentation sent by every single candidate and will decide on the admission of the candidates to the Program and the assignment of the two scholarships.

In this stage, candidates could well be contacted for an oral interview, in person or by Skype. In this case, the candidate will receive an email with the indication of the time and the date of the convocation: in case of an unjustified absence, the candidate will be excluded from the present selection.

Students will be informed of the final outcome to their application, positive or negative as the case may be, for admission to the degree program and to the ITP Program via e-mail by the deadline indicated in column 3 – Communication of Outcome of Application. Successful candidates will then be asked to accept the offer of admission and enroll by the relevant deadline indicated in column 4 - Enrollment.

2. Check on the documentation

Candidates will be conditionally admitted at first, and thereafter fully admitted solely upon receipt by the Student Office of the original documentation, the statement of equivalent value and, for non-EU citizens, certification regarding the personal identity of the student (authenticated photograph) and an Italian permit of stay to be sought from the competent authorities within 8 working days after arriving in Italy.

In case of negative result of admission for the ITP Program the candidate, if all the requirements for the international selection are fulfilled, can be contacted in order to evaluate the eventual admission to LUISS Masters Degree programs.

For any information regarding one’s qualifications and how to obtain a visa/study permit, it is advisable to timely read the Rules for University Enrolment by Foreign Students (“norme per l’accesso degli studenti stranieri ai corsi universitari”) and to contact the local Italian diplomatic authorities in the country whose school system awards the qualification, also in order to comply with the administrative procedures for the issuance of the required documentation.

5. Confirmation of the scholarship 

The scholarship will be confirmed for the second year if the program if the student completes, before the deadline of 31 July 2019, at least 70% of the credits required by his/her study plan for the academic year in question, with an average GPA of no less than 27/30.

6. Scholarship revocation

The scholarship will be revoked in case of: a) not enrollment by the deadlines indicated from this call of applications; b) withdrawal from studies; c) transfer to another master's program or university.
